Planigator

Manual

Build#1658 11.6.26.Release notes

This manual walks through each tab in Planigator and what every button does. The pictures show the real buttons so you can find them on the page.

Planigator plans a truck trip in the browser, then navigates that route on the same page. Plans assume a fresh clock. Use your truck’s real ELD for legal records.

Getting around

I keep six tabs across the bottom of the home page: Nav, Plan, Stops, Settings, Account, and YouTube. Tap a tab to open it. Signed out, a first visit opens on the Account tab, which is called Sign in until you sign in.

Swiping between tabs

Swipe left or right anywhere on a tab, the empty space under it too, to go to the next or previous tab. The order is Nav, Plan, Stops, Settings, Account, YouTube. It stops at Nav and at YouTube. It does not wrap around.

Only a quick, clear sideways swipe counts, so scrolling up and down still works. A swipe can start on a text box, a dropdown, a slider, or the delay − and + buttons too. A tap there still types, opens the dropdown, or steps the delay, and dragging to select text does not switch tabs. A swipe that starts in a text box while you are typing switches tabs and puts the keyboard away. A swipe does nothing if it starts on the map, the logo strip, something that scrolls sideways, an open picker or search sheet, or the outer 20 pixels of the screen. On Nav you can swipe from anywhere off the map, even while navigating.

Account

Sign in.Sign in with Google. A new account gets 40 credits. You can sign in with Google or with a US phone number. I text you a 6-digit code. Or tap Sign in/up with an email code, type your email, finish the human check, and tap Email me a code. I email you a 6-digit code and a link. Sign in codes always come from signin@planigator.help; that address only sends codes, so for help write to support@planigator.help. Type the code and tap Verify, or tap the link in the email on the same device. The code works for 10 minutes, and five wrong tries end it. An email sign-in is its own account, even if that email is on a Google account. The first sign-in gets the same 40 free credits. If Google sign-in cannot load (a content blocker or a bad connection), this spot says so and has a Retry button; turn off the content blocker for planigator.help or try another browser, then tap Retry. After you sign in, Saved trips shows on this tab and those trips stay with that account. Signed out, this page does not show that account’s trip or location, and it does not keep them in this browser. Clear plan sits on the Account tab.

Your settings and your account. Settings you set while signed out stay on that phone and do not carry into your account. When you sign in, your account's own saved settings load, or the starting settings if it has none yet. Signed in, every change you make in Settings saves to your account.

Account

Signed out, this tab is called Sign in. It holds Sign in, the video, and Clear plan. See an example plan is on the Plan tab, under No plan yet, when you have no plan. Once a plan is open, it is on this tab. The video has a position bar that moves while the video plays. Signed in, it also holds Saved plans, Plans shared with you (the plans members sent you, right under Saved plans, with Remove beside each one), Miles driven, and Credits used: your Nav voice credits and HERE© credits, each with its total; tap a total to open or close its list (each starts closed). Plans shared with you is on this tab, not the Plan tab. Miles driven shows Total, Today, Last 7 days, and Last 28 days. It counts the miles you drive with navigation on and is added up across your devices. Planned trips and saved trips are not counted. It is not shown when you are signed out.

Clear plan shows only when there is something to clear: a plan (one you calculated, the example, or a saved or shared trip), a start, or any text in a stop's address or name.

Signed in, the logo strip, the page links, and the build line are only on this tab. The other tabs end with their own content.

Signed out, I leave the page links and the build line off the top of the page. They are still at the bottom of the page.

When you are signed in, this tab gives you Face cam, Show taps, and Record screen. Face cam puts a camera picture on the screen that you can drag. You can choose Circle, Square, 9:16, Bottom half, or Top half, change its size, and flip between the front camera and the back camera. Show taps highlights each place you touch the screen. Record screen records what is on the screen and keeps that recording on your device.

When you are signed in, this tab also has Connect Grok Bot. Tap 1. Get pairing code for a 6-digit code, then tap 2. Copy message for Grok Bot and paste that message into your Grok Bot. That message is the one-tap template: it already has your code and tells your bot how to connect. Your bot connects on its own, and the button reads Grok Bot connected. A Chat button then shows on the right side of the Nav map, above Memo. You can type or talk to your Grok Bot, hear its replies read aloud, clear the chat, or disconnect. Open map Chat on this tab jumps to that button. Disconnect Grok Bot stops new messages from going to your bot. A pairing code works once and lasts 15 minutes. Your bot's webhook has to be a public https address. If you send a lot of messages in one hour, I ask you to wait a little before the next one.

Example plan

The example plan, Columbus to OAKES, is a sample run from a starting point in Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh, PA, with its delays. Like a real trip, its start shows map numbers instead of a name. The business names and addresses in it are made up. It always starts today (or tomorrow, late in the day) so it is on time, and its driving and loading stay between Day start and Day end. Every stop in it with a window has a stop type, so it calculates without Choose Live load/unload, Pick up or Drop off. MAPLWDdo, open 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, is a drop and hook: Drop off and Pick up are checked, with Yard move checked. RDGL is Anytime. OAKES, at 11:00 AM the next day, is a Live load/unload. Its delays are the default auto delays and read (auto): 15 min per hr on each drive, a 30 min drop off delay, a 30 min pick up delay and a 2 hr live load/unload delay. The loading counts on the Workday clock, not as driving. While the example is open, Settings, Hours shows the settings it is planned with: its speed, Day start and Day end, hours, Leave now, and Drive auto delay on at 15 min per hr with Live load/unload auto delay (2 hr), Pick up auto delay (30 min) and Drop off auto delay (30 min) on. Your own Hours settings are kept on this phone and come back when you open another plan, open a shared plan, press Clear plan or sign out. A setting you change while the example is open stays as you set it. Apply active auto delays works on it as on any plan.

Signed out, a first visit opens on the Sign in tab. The Nav tab has the map and the Nav buttons, and with no plan the directions say to add stops and calculate. The example plan loads when you tap See an example plan. Signed out, that opens the Plan tab. The example plan's drive times come with the page, so opening it does not ask HERE© for a route and uses no credits. "This is an example plan" shows right above its first drive, in a sparkly box, with a number that counts down from 5 to 0, one a second, from when the Plan tab first shows it; then it fades away. With reduce motion on in your phone's settings, its sparkles hold still, and it still fades after 5 seconds. The swipe hint described next shows too.

Signed out, See an example plan opens the Plan tab. A small hint with sparkles shows near the bottom for about 5 seconds, then fades. On a phone or tablet it reads "← Swipe anywhere to change tabs →". On a computer with a mouse or trackpad it reads "On your phone, swipe anywhere to change tabs." Taps go right through it. Signed in, the example opens and you stay on the tab you were on.

A shared plan link opens on the Plan tab.

Pressing Calculate opens the Plan tab, at the top, once the new plan is ready. If it cannot make a plan (an error, or a stop that still needs its address), you stay where you are. A stop that still needs its address shows "Press lookup address on [stop name] and choose an address before pressing Calculate." right above the Calculate button, and that stop's card opens (unfolding it if it was folded) with its address in view, ready to look up. If several stops need one, the first opens.

Settings

Settings has three sections: Hours, Look, and Navigation. Hours opens first. Hours holds Governed speed, Leave now or Leave at, Day start and Day end (or Start anytime and End anytime), Military time, Kilometers, Hours I'll drive out of the 11, and Hours into driving before the 30-minute break. Look holds Light or dark, Colors, and Background. Navigation holds Location icon.

Hours is the first button at the top of Settings and the section that opens first.

Every plan leaves as soon as it can. You wait if you are early. I do not show a switch for leaving later.

Set speed, hours, and when you leave. Set these after you sign in so they save to your account.

Stops

Where the trip starts.

Green means that choice is on.

Start from my location uses the phone or computer location. The browser asks first. That lookup is free. If location is blocked when you tap Enable location, Allow location, or Start from my location, an animation pops up showing how to tap the menu next to planigator.help and change Location to Allow. Calculate and Recalculate read the location again when you press them, so the trip starts where you are then, and the trip and its saved copy keep that new start. If Recalculate cannot get your location, it stops and says Allow location first, then Recalculate, instead of routing from where you were before. Start from first stop starts the trip at the first stop in your list. No stop is added: the map and the plan go from that stop to the next one, by their names, with the first stop's own pin. Only one of the two is on at a time. The choice is kept with the trip, in saved plans and share links, and New trip or Clear plan clears it. A trip whose first stop is named Start counts as Start from first stop. With Start from first stop, the Plan shows that stop on top as the Starting stop, with no drive into it. The first drive leaves no sooner than that stop's Window opening (or its Be there by time) plus its Live load/unload delay and Finish stop delay; if the plan's start is later than that, it leaves at the plan's start. Leeway while you wait there for it to open uses your Workday clock, and the load uses the Workday clock only. A Live load/unload delay stepper sits on the Starting stop chip, and the Finish stop at the opening shows when the load is done. Once you are navigating, the first drive starts now. Calculate and Recalculate always need one of these: if you press them before choosing, the page moves up to this choice, both buttons light up, and it says Choose Start from my location or Start from first stop. End navigation does not change this choice, but Recalculate (the map's button, or Calculate once it says just Recalculate) routes from where you are and switches the start to your location there; the first stop stays on its card.

Add each stop. Each stop is a card. See Stops for every button on the card. Trip name and Save sit at the end of the Stops tab. Save keeps the trip on your account when you are signed in. A plan you have not named keeps an empty Trip name (it shows the gray Optional hint) until you type one; Saved plans lists it by its stops. That list name uses only the stops still on the trip (Done stops are left out) and is updated each time you Save. Signed out, it stays on this device until you sign in.

Stops holds where the trip starts (Start from my location or Start from first stop), the stop cards, the Trip name and Save, Calculate, and Clear plan when there is something to clear. Clear plan here does the same thing as Clear plan on the Account tab. Here it takes two taps: the first changes it to Tap again to clear, and a second tap within 4 seconds clears the plan. Otherwise it goes back to Clear plan.

Every stop card starts open. Press a stop's top row to fold it up, and press it again to open it. The other cards stay as they are.

Above Calculate is Fast mode (or Short mode). Routes are truck routes.

Calculate the truck route.

Fast mode picks the least time. Short mode picks the least distance. The green one is the one that will be used. Fast mode is the start.

Calculate asks HERE© for a truck route: a 53-ft trailer, 80,000 lb, 13 ft 6 in high. Route restrictions come from HERE© map data and can be out of date. Always obey posted signs. Truck only. Not car, bike, or walk. Each HERE© answer is 1 credit. A leg is the drive from one stop to the next. The start is not a leg. Short mode can ask a second time, and that answer is another credit.

After a route exists, a new stop added at the end calculates only from the last stop that already has miles. The button then says Recalculate from that stop, and only the new leg uses a credit. A stop inserted in the middle recalculates the trip, and each leg that has to be routed uses a credit. Stops you have already reached are skipped.

Plan

Reading the plan.Leave by, Arrive by, Driving, Breaks and rest, and total trip time sit at the top. The plan leaves as soon as it can (see Times, delays, and a finished stop). Under those, each drive says Toward and the stop name. While you are navigating, the drive to the stop you are driving toward starts now and ends after only the drive time left, plus any delay on that drive, and it shows the time and miles left instead of the whole drive. This still holds after you end navigation or reload the page: that drive keeps the time and miles left from where you last were. With navigation on, a reload or signing back in starts that drive where navigation puts you on the route, the same as before you left the page, never from the trip's start. It uses the latest of three: where you were last saved (saved every 30 seconds or mile while you drive, at each new direction step, and when you leave the page), the spot navigation picks up at, and your first location fix after the reload, on the route or off it. A fix within 250 m of the stop you are driving toward means you are there, with 0 min left, even parked in a lot off the route line. No new route is asked for. Each trip keeps how you ended it, so if you open another trip, a shared trip, or the example and then come back, that drive still shows what was left. It goes back to the whole drive only when that stop is Done, that trip's stops are changed so that drive is different, you press Calculate on that trip, or you press Clear plan. The 30-minute breaks, Off-duty/Sleeper Berth, leeway, and finish chips follow. A done stop is not in this list, and the rest of the plan runs without that stop. When every stop is done, the plan says All stops are done. On the last stop, Leeway runs to the window close or be-there-by, but stops at your Day end, and the Off-duty/Sleeper Berth starts there. Share this plan's link and Add Planigator to your home screen sit at the top of the Plan tab. Share this plan's link puts the plan in the address bar so you can send it. When a signed-in driver opens that link, the whole trip is added to his account and shows under Saved trips. Add this trip to my account does the same thing for the trip on the page.

Plan holds the trip in time order. At the top are Share this plan's link and Add Planigator to your home screen, then each drive, break, and stop. At the bottom are Driving, Total leeway, Miles by state, and Total delay, then Apply active auto delays when any auto delay is on, then Send to a Planigator member when you are signed in.

Each Plan row’s title, description, left time, right duration pill, and delay stepper (− / delay / +) use the same color as that row’s timeline dot (or square), and a light line sits between rows so the parts are easier to tell apart. Leeway uses a soft pink. A Finish stop row uses its stop's color, the same as the drives toward that stop.

Each drive has a Possible delay time control. Tap − or + to change it by 15 minutes. It reads, for example, 1 hr 30 min drive delay.

On the first drive, under its time and date, is a small Military time button in two lines (Military over time), so the time column stays as wide as it was. When the plan has no drive left, it sits right above Apply active auto delays instead. It is the same setting as Military time on the Settings tab and Military on the stop cards: tap it and every time on the plan switches between 24-hour clocks (18:00) and AM/PM (6:00 PM) at once, and the other two follow.

Nav

The map and auto zooming directions are here, with a little space between them. Held upright, the directions are above the map. In the Home Screen app the map runs to the bottom of the screen. Before you start navigation, the map is in Trip zoom. The Start nav button on the left of the map turns into End nav. See Map buttons and Navigate.

Nav holds the map and its buttons (Stops, Detours, Satellite or Street map, Start nav, Voice, Weather, Light mode or Dark mode, Chat when your Grok Bot is connected, Memo, the compass, the zoom button, Recalculate, and Follow me) and the directions. The directions sit just above the tabs. Search here shows when you are looking at places on the map.

Start nav and End nav are buttons on the left of the map. While you navigate, Start nav turns into End nav. Light mode and Dark mode are buttons on the left too. A Voice button on the left, right after Start nav, opens a menu with Phone, Asteria, and No voice. I keep the one you pick on this phone. Signing out and back in, or opening a saved plan, keeps it. No voice keeps the spoken directions quiet.

Voice choices: Pressing the Voice button opens a menu with Phone, Asteria, and No voice. Phone and Asteria are the speaking voices. Asteria uses the newest, most natural sounding voice made on the Planigator server, for every account. If you had picked another of the older voices, I moved you to Asteria. Asteria says a three digit exit or route number as one number, like Interstate two hundred sixty four. They play the same way, so they do not pause your audio, and if a line does not come within 4 seconds, or Asteria cannot play it, your phone's voice reads it instead. They need a free account and use credits. Before Start nav, the Nav says Voice: about N credits for this trip. New speech costs about 5.14 credits per 1,000 characters, rounded up once per trip. A phrase already made, on any trip, is free. Start nav holds those credits. End nav gives back what was not used, and your credits left update right away. Signed out, the same button is on the map. No voice keeps the directions quiet. If you pick Asteria while signed out, I keep that pick and the phone says each line until you sign in. The Phone voice talks a little slower than Asteria.

YouTube

On the YouTube tab, the link box has no mic. A mic button sits next to the search box. Tap the mic, say a search, then tap the mic again. The mic works when you are signed in, and it has an hourly limit. I put those words in that box. I do not open the keyboard, and I do not search until you press Search. The mic still works while you are navigating. Sign in with YouTube is only after you are signed into Planigator.

Credits

This table is a whole trip when you start from your location and look up every stop address. Picking a suggestion after the lookup is free. The start itself is not a lookup.

One stop is 2 credits: 1 to look up the address, and 1 to calculate the leg. Ten stops are 20.

Signing in with Google, a phone number, or an email code gives 40 free credits the first time. Without signing in you get 5 free credits a day on this device; they come back after midnight Central. Extra packs are 186 credits for $1.49 or 1,500 credits for $12. Each pack button has a line under it saying how many two-stop plans it buys, for example 186 credits = 46-62 two-stop plans and 1,500 credits = 375-500 two-stop plans, because a two-stop plan costs 4 credits from your location (2 address lookups + 2 legs) or 3 credits starting from the first stop. There is no Save a card offer and no extra credits for adding a card. Payment details are handled by Stripe at checkout, and nothing is charged without a purchase.

Stops

Times, delays, and a finished stop

After Calculate, the plan lists Leave by, Arrive by, Driving, Breaks and rest, and total trip time at the top. Under that, each drive says Toward and the stop name. Each 30-minute break and each Off-duty/Sleeper Berth follows. Leeway chips say Leeway. On the last stop, that spare time runs to the window close or be-there-by. Leeway never runs through an Off-duty/Sleeper Berth or a 30-minute break: it stops when the break starts and picks up again when the break ends, so you see Leeway before and after it.

Every plan leaves when allowed and gets you there as soon as it can. You wait if you are early. Changing a time or a delay rebuilds from the miles and hours you already have. It does not ask HERE© and it does not use a credit.

Changing Leave now, Leave at, a day clock, the 11, the 30, a stop time, or a delay rebuilds those times. Leave now moves again every minute, including the leeway that is waiting on the current minute. With Leave now off and a Leave at still ahead, the leeway from now until that Leave at moves every minute too. Removing a stop does not stop that. None of that asks HERE© for a new road. Governed speed does not. The clocks stay on the last HERE© hours until you Calculate.

Wheels. Every number and time you pick is a small wheel, three rows tall, right in its row: on the Settings tab's Hours (Governed speed, Leave at, Day start, Day end, the 11, the 30-minute break, the four auto delays), on a stop card (Be there by, Opens and Closes, with the weekday after each day, like 15 Thu), on the Plan's delays. Turn it and let go; it saves a moment after it stops. Where this manual says tap − or +, or tap a time to change it, turn its wheel. On a stop card, Opens and Closes each have a padlock to the right of AM/PM (every padlock is a big, easy to tap button). It starts locked, so a swipe that starts on those wheels scrolls the page and the times stay put; touching a locked wheel shows a small Unlock first box pointing at its padlock for about 2 seconds. Tap the padlock to open it and turn the wheels; tap it again to lock them. Opens and Closes each have their own lock, a new stop starts locked, and the lock is saved with the stop, so it stays after a reload. Locked wheels still move when the app changes the time (Window, Military, Paste, a search or recalculation).

On a driving line you can add Possible delay time, in minutes. Tap − or + to step it 15 minutes at a time; it reads the time and the words drive delay, for example 0 min drive delay, 1 hr drive delay, or 1 hr 30 min drive delay. Those minutes come out of the hours you can drive that day, and they count on the clock toward the 30-minute break. Drive time plus possible delay before Off-duty cannot go past the hours you chose out of the 11. A delay on a drive before a 30 shortens that chip’s hours so the break still lands at the hours into driving you chose. Later drives move instead, so a stack of delays cannot push you past that break mark. If those drives would pass the end of the day, they move to after the reset. A delay is being stuck in traffic, so it is driving: it shortens that chip’s road, and the road it puts off moves to the next drive. Every drive row, each Part too, keeps its drive time and miles without the delay on top, then reads + the delay → the row's whole time, drive and delay together (the same time as on the right of the row), and the miles it actually drives, for example + 20 min delay → 1 hr 29 min · 67.1 miles. Delay or road that does not fit before Day end, the hours you chose out of the 11, or the Workday clock is driven the next morning after the Off-duty/Sleeper Berth, as a new Drive (Part N) when needed. A delay never moves the start of its own chip or the Off-duty before it. When that day is used up, a 10-hour reset is added. That reset clears the clock, and the next drive starts when the reset ends. This is the same on the last drive into a stop: that arrival moves, the leeway after it gets shorter, and if the arrival passes the be-there-by, that drive is late. Changing Possible delay time does not auto-zoom the map. Changing Possible delay time on a card never sets the delays on the later drive cards back to 0. I plan the trip again from that card on: with Auto delay on, the later auto delays are worked out again from the new times, and every delay you set by hand stays; earlier cards keep theirs.

Under the drive delay on every drive row are two off duty boxes. The top one is Off duty before driving: that off duty time comes right before the drive starts rolling, for example a wait at 5:30 AM before you leave. It does not count toward your 12, and in arrive latest it comes out of your leeway later; if it is longer than your leeway, you arrive late. Under it is Off duty after driving, for a stop of your own, like food or a nap. Tap − or + to step either one 15 minutes at a time; it reads, for example, 45 min off duty after driving (yours). It starts where that row's drive ends (on the last row into a stop, at the stop when you get there) and shows as its own Off-duty delay row. Everything after it moves later. It is not drive time, so it does not come out of the 11. The Workday clock keeps running through it, as it does for any off-duty time under 10 hours. Off-duty delay of 30 minutes or more counts as your 30-minute break, so no other break is added there. Off-duty delay of 10 hours or more resets your day like an Off-duty/Sleeper Berth. Day end is still a hard stop: no drive goes past it. Changing it never sets a later delay back to 0, the same as Possible delay time; the later rows move with it. Auto delay never fills it. When a drive is split at a time zone line, Drive (Part 1) has only the Off duty before driving box and the last part has only the Off duty after driving box.

Auto delay is on the Settings tab, under the hours, where its setting for driving is called Drive auto delay. It is Off at first. Turn it on, or tap it to choose 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 min per hr; 15 is the first choice. With it on, Calculate fills each drive chip's Possible delay time. I work it out for the whole leg to a stop first: that many minutes for every hour of the leg's full drive time, rounded to 5 minutes once (15 min per hr on a 13 hr 57 min leg is 210 min, and a 2 hr 40 min leg gets 40 min). Then I spread that total over the leg's drive chips by the driving each chip shows, 5 minutes at a time, so the chips always add up to the leg's total instead of picking up extra rounding on every chip. The chips are filled from the top of the plan down, in order, first drive chip, then the second, then the third, and so on, because a delay set on a later chip before an earlier one would not come out right: each chip's delay is set, the plan is built again, and the next chip is read from that new plan. Each delay works like one you set, so it can move breaks, Off-duty and later drives. A delay counts as driving, so on a chip that ends at Day end, the 30-minute break or the hours you drive, the delay takes the place of some road, and that road moves to a later chip. That later chip then shows more driving and gets more delay, because you drive all of it: at 15 min per hr a Part 4 that shows 5 hr 11 min gets 1 hr 20 min. The fill goes down the plan again until no chip's drive time changes (it stops after a few rounds at most), and a chip reads, for example, 40 min drive delay (auto). If you change a delay with − or + (a drive chip, the part after a time zone line, or a leg), up or down, it reads (yours) and keeps your number, the delays before it keep theirs, and every auto delay after it is filled again by Auto delay right away, the same way, from the top down: each one is set, the plan is built again, and the next is read from that plan. A delay after it that reads (yours) keeps your number, Auto delay on or off, and off duty, Live load/unload, Pick up and Drop off delays stay where you set them and move with the plan. With Auto delay off, every later delay keeps its number and the plan is just worked out again with the new times; a Live load/unload, Pick up, or Drop off delay you still have switched on keeps filling in. No later delay ever goes to 0 because you changed one. Calculate or Recalculate fill every chip again. Apply active auto delays, on the Plan and next to the Auto delay setting, fills the chips you already have from the drive times already shown, the same way. It does not ask HERE©, it does not run Recalculate and it does not use a credit. It also clears every delay that reads (yours) and fills that chip with Auto delay too. Day end is still a hard stop. Apply active auto delays also puts every Finish stop delay back to 0. Right under Drive auto delay are Live load/unload auto delay (2 hr at first), Pick up auto delay (30 min at first) and Drop off auto delay (30 min at first), set 15 minutes at a time, then Apply active auto delays. They are minutes per stop, not per hour: with Auto delay on, a stop with Live load/unload, Pick up or Drop off checked gets that many minutes on each of its − and +, and Apply active auto delays, Calculate and Recalculate fill them again, (yours) too. Each of the three is on at first and turns on and off with one tap on its name, like Drive auto delay: green is on. Tap its time to change the minutes, on or off. When one is off, those stops get no auto delay: their − and + start at 0 and read without (auto), and Apply active auto delays leaves that delay as it is. Turning Auto delay Off takes its delays off and keeps the ones you set. A trip link you open keeps your own Auto delay settings, not the sender’s. I round every auto delay to the nearest 5 minutes.

Under Apply active auto delays on the Plan tab is Reset off duty delays. It shows when any off duty delay is set. Tap it and confirm to set every off duty delay on the trip back to 0, including Off duty before driving. Drive and stop delays stay as they are.

On the finish chip, Possible delay time is a live load. You are not driving while they load you, so those minutes come out of the Workday clock only. They do not come out of drive time. They count whether you get there before or after the opening; at or after it, the Finish stop is when you arrive. The next drive leaves after that timer. A stop's own Finish stop delay never moves your arrival there or makes that stop late, and setting it back to 0 puts the plan back as it was. When the Workday clock runs out, a 10-hour reset is added and the clock clears. Load time that did not fit does not follow. Neither timer uses a credit or asks HERE© for a new road.

Day end exception. Day start and Day end are hard limits for the work at a stop too (Live load/unload, Pick up, Drop off and the Finish stop delay). When that work can start before Day end, at the window opening or when you get there if that is later, and would finish no more than an hour past Day end, I ask under that stop's Finish stop row, for example: Finishing at DIXIE runs 30 min past your 5:30 PM Day end. Work until 6:00 PM for this load? with Yes, work until 6:00 PM and No, wait for tomorrow. If you leave that question unanswered, I do nothing: your day still ends at your Day end, and the question stays there. Yes keeps the work until 6:00 PM with the trip: only that day runs to 6:00 PM, and the Off-duty/Sleeper Berth starts from there. No does the work at the next Day start, with the red note. Ask me again under it brings the question back. It only asks when your Workday clock has room for the work, and your hours out of the 11 too when Yard move is unchecked (that work is driving). Work that would run more than an hour past Day end waits for the next Day start, and the red note says when it would have finished. A drive never starts after Day end. Answering does not ask HERE© or use a credit, and it is locked while navigating.

The map does not ask you to switch stops. When you pick another stop yourself, it asks Mark previous stop done? when that is one stop, or Mark previous stops done? when it is two or more. That covers the stop you were on and every stop before the one you picked that is not done yet. A stop Recalculate routed past is in it too, because routing past a stop does not make it done. Your start is not in it, unless it has its own drive line. It asks even when the stop you picked is the one you were on, if stops before it are not done, and it asks the same way when you are not navigating. If no stop would be marked, it does not ask and just starts the one you picked. Yes marks every one of those stops done and starts the one you picked. This is the only way a stop becomes done: arriving, Recalculate, Add and recalculate, End navigation and a refresh never mark one. No marks nothing and stays on the stop you were on; not navigating, No changes nothing. The stop you picked is never the one marked done. A done stop is hidden: its card, its lines in the plan, its name and line on the map, its directions, and its button in Stops on the map go away as soon as you say Done. The trip, the saved trip and your account keep it and its done mark, so it is still hidden when you open the trip again; it is set aside from the trip's list of stops, except the done stop the next drive leaves from, so the page does not go over it each time it redraws, and a share link sent after that has only the stops still on the trip. Recalculate skips it. The other cards keep their colors and any name you typed. A stop with no name is numbered among the stops that are not done: with 10 of 12 stops done, the two left are Stop 1 and Stop 2, and a new stop is Stop 3. A stop Recalculate only routed past keeps its card and its button in Stops on the map but has no line, name or directions on the map. When every stop is done, the stop list says All stops are done, with an Add a stop button, and Stops on the map shows No stops.

Map buttons

Left buttons, top to bottom: Stops, Detours, Satellite (or Street map), Start nav (End nav while navigating), Voice, Light mode (or Dark mode). The Voice button sits right after Start nav, signed in or out. Stops opens your stops; tap one to drive toward it. Detours opens Truck stop, Cat scale, Love's and Walmart, plus search. Satellite / Street map switches the map.

Right buttons, top to bottom: Chat when your Grok Bot is connected, Memo, Conditions, the compass (tap to lock north), the zoom button, Recalculate, and Follow me (after Start nav). Tap Conditions to open Weather, Wind, and Elevation in a row to its left toward the map; tap Conditions again, or tap anywhere else, to close them. Zoom button: before Start nav it reads Trip zoom. After Start nav it reads Hands-free zoom, and each tap goes Hands-free, Trip, Left, Stop. Red warning button: shows only when HERE© sends a route warning. Bottom of the map: miles left and the town on the left; the speed limit sign, time left and ETA on the right.

Voice typing is on the Settings tab when you are signed in. Pick how I turn your voice into words for the map Chat mic and for memos: Phone uses the speech recognition built into your phone or browser (if it is not there, tap the mic on your keyboard in the message box), Cloudflare sends the recording to my server's speech-to-text and is the default, and Grok (your own account) uses xAI's speech-to-text with your own xAI API key, so xAI bills your xAI account, not me. For Grok, paste your key (it starts with xai-) and tap Save key. I check it with xAI, keep it encrypted, and never show it again; the box then reads Your xAI key is saved, with Delete my key next to it. If you pick Grok with no key saved, voice typing asks you to add one first. Cloudflare voice typing costs 1 credit each time it turns a recording into words; if it hears nothing, the credit comes back. Phone and Grok with your own key cost no credits.

Auto recalculate is on the Settings tab and starts off. Tap Off to turn it On. While you navigate, if you get farther off the route than How far off the route (0.1 to 1 mi), I recalculate from where you are, and I wait at least Wait between recalculates (15 to 120 sec) before doing it again. Each automatic recalculate uses one HERE© call, the same as tapping Recalculate. I skip a GPS fix that is too rough to tell if you really left the route. When you run out of credits, I show the out of credits message once and stop recalculating until you have credits again. Tap On to turn it off.

Chat shows on that right side only after your Grok Bot is connected. Tap it to type a message or tap the mic and talk. Voice reads a new reply aloud, and you can turn that off. Clear empties the chat. Done closes it. Spoken directions stay quiet while you are typing in that box or using its mic.

Pressing Start nav with no stops shows a box, Add stops first, that says Add at least one stop on the Stops tab, then start navigation. OK closes it. Stops closes it and opens the Stops tab. With no stops, Stops, the zoom button, and Recalculate show Add stops in the Stops tab. Detours says Calculate the trip to choose where the detour goes. Follow me is not shown until navigation starts.

Signed in, with Asteria, Start nav asks Download the voice clips for this trip so Nav keeps talking with no signal? Download saves the trip's spoken directions on the phone so the voice keeps talking with no signal. Not now leaves the voice to fetch each line as you drive. The question is for Asteria signed in, not the Phone voice, when those clips are not already on the phone.

Download trip map for offline saves the street map along the calculated route (about 2 km each side, full detail, and around each stop) on this phone, up to 150 MB per trip, with the size shown first, a progress line and Cancel; saved maps show under Offline maps on this phone with Delete; the satellite map is not saved.

Planigator also opens with no signal. Each time it loads with signal, it saves a backup copy of the site on this phone, and with no signal it opens from that copy. With signal it always loads fresh.

Once the app has loaded with a signal, a reload with no network still opens the app and the saved plan. It does not need a signal to open. Recalculate, new voice lines, credits, and sign-in need a signal.

Love's, Walmart, truck stops, Cat scales

To add a Love's as a stop, you can type its store number in the stop address box, like Love's #877, loves 877, or #877, then tap Look up. I find it on this phone without using a credit, and it shows as Love's #877 with its address.

The Detours button on the left buttons opens a panel with Truck stop, Cat scale, Love's, and Walmart, and Search HERE · 1 credit. With no stops still ahead, the panel says Calculate the trip to choose where the detour goes. Love's, Walmart, Cat scale, and truck stop are searched from lists stored with this site, in this browser, and do not use a credit. Love's, Walmart, and truck stop locations are from OpenStreetMap contributors. Cat scale locations are from the public CAT Scale list. A brand-new store can be missing until that list is updated. None of those lists use a credit. A place button looks along the calculated route and keeps places within about 5 miles of the route line. It does not use a credit. Those places show as numbered pins on the map. When you pick a place button, I zoom the map so you and the nearest places are on the screen together. If Follow me is on, I pause it the same way dragging the map does, so that zoom stays. Picking a detour category or running a detour search automatically collapses the turn-by-turn directions box into its bottom header bar so you have more map room to pan and scroll around.

The nearest pin is selected. Tap another numbered pin to choose it. Tapping a pin on the map also zooms to about a quarter mile around it for 5 seconds, then the map goes back to the zoom you were in. While it is zoomed in, the box sits at the top of the map, under Search here and Clear, so it does not cover the place (above the ETA if there is no room at the top), and goes back by its pin after. On the map the places are numbered pins; there is no list under the directions. Only the pin you chose has a box, with the name, miles ahead, and miles off the route, like 1. Walmart Supercenter · 66.9 miles ahead · 0.8 miles off the route. The city and state are not shown. If that box would run under Search here and Clear at the top of the map, it sits under its pin instead. Add and recalculate is in that box. Clear takes the pins off the map. After Love's, Walmart, Cat scale, or a truck stop, Search here on the map looks in the part of the map you are looking at, including places that are not on the route. Search here uses the saved list and does not use a credit.

Add and recalculate on that pin puts the place on the route. Before the next stop that uses 2 credits: from where you are to that place, then from that place to the stop you were driving toward. You need those credits left. The new stop is Anytime. Clear removes the pins if you do not want them.

Detours on the map opens a panel. At the top, Detour goes lists the stops still ahead, in order, with a Here line before each one and one after the last. Here · before next stop is chosen each time it opens. Tap another Here to put the detour between two stops, or after the last stop. Then press a place button, or type any place or address in the search box and press Search HERE · 1 credit. Typed Detours search (Search HERE, Search Google, and Search this area) needs you signed into Planigator first; when you are signed out the button says Sign in to Planigator first and the search does not run. Place buttons (Truck stop, Cat scale, Love's, Walmart) still work signed out and use no credit. When you are signed in, Search HERE uses 1 credit and lists up to 20 places, nearest first, with the kind of place, how far it is, and whether it is open. Right after a Search HERE, before you change the search text or move the map, the button switches to Search Google · 5 credits so you can run that same search on Google for 5 credits if nothing came back or you want different results. After a Search, move or zoom the map and Search this area · 1 credit shows at the top of the map; it runs that search again around the part of the map you are looking at, nearest the middle of the map first, for 1 credit. Choosing where it goes and the place buttons use no credit. Tap a row to see its pin on the map, or press Add and recalculate on the row or on the pin. Before the next stop uses 2 credits, as above. Between two later stops also uses 2 credits: from the stop before it to the place, then from the place to the stop after it. After the last stop uses 1 credit. The leg you are driving stays as it is, and the plan's times are made again from where you are.

Truck stop also lists every truck stop within about 2 miles of where you are, on either side of the road, ahead or behind, besides the five along the route, nearest first. Two chains side by side, like a Pilot across the road from a ONE9, are two stops.
